i canoe, do you?

justin got a new toy.

another superb craigslist find. i wasn't as sure as justin that a canoe was high on our list of 'things to buy', but i must admit we're enjoying it. we've had it just over a week and we've been out 4 times. i know some of this may be the excitement of our new toy, but we've really been enjoying it and i think we'll continue to. after our canoe outing today we stopped at the bulk food store in alexander, where they have amazing subs.

in other exciting news, justin got a haircut. he's all aerodynamic for the 90 miler canoe race next weekend. [um, yes 90 miles. he and mike are doing a 90 mile canoe race in 3 days. good times.]

had a splendid week in the adirondacks with the fam [although we missed our leeko]. details and more pictures to come. simply love the adirondacks.

justin and i have a new favorite restaurant. mythos cafe in brockport. it is so worth the drive. they have this amazing garlic & herb butter. and this amazing feta dip. and roasted red pepper hummus. and their pasta is amazing. justin and i had a wonderful evening the other night. we had dinner at mythos then went for a walk on the canal. it was wonderful and a perfect warm summer night.

god is so good. there are so many wonderful things in life created for us to enjoy. like warm summer evenings. and amazing sunsets. and the smell of grass. and the sound of katydids.

totally completely enjoying summer. weather has been unbelievable! trying to be outside as much as possible. we made grilled pitas for dinner. highly recommended.
we had lots of toppings & everyone made their own. i think mine won yummiest: ranch dressing, garlic, roasted red peppers, broccoli, green peppers, cheddar & mozzarella cheese.

my youngest seester lyndsay and her husband andy moved to beaver falls, pa. we had a going away party to see them off...we will miss them lots. but they have an ikea nearby, so we will visit very soon!

we ordered takeout from our favorite chinese place and watched the opening ceremony of the beijing 2008 olympic games. were those drums amazing, or what?! happy 08.08.08.

justin's band played at a music festival this week, so it's been a very busy week. also a very fun week. relevant did a great job and had a great turnout...

my husband is without a doubt my favorite person in the world. i so enjoy being with him. he's an amazing musician and absolutely loves to play. i love to watch him in his element.
