from time to time...

i always...
... want ice cream. like everyday. like right now.
... snooze the alarm. i'm a snoozer.
... drink coffee. every morning.
... feel loved.

i sometimes...
... feel completely insecure.
... think too practically. i'm a practical gal.
... ignore calls. sometimes i just don't want to talk on the phone.
... sleep til 10am. it's a beautiful thing.

i never...
... eat meat. it's gross.
... wake up early + happy. no. can. do.
... read as much as i should. i'm quite good at reading blogs...
... want to watch scary movies.

but here's a scary movie for you! happy halloweeny!

happy weekend!
my weekend plans include: apples & caramel dip & butternut squash soup. mmm.

today in pictures.

found this on etsy. probably should've put it on my wishlist.
but i just couldn't wait.

speaking of etsy, if i had $145 to buy a sweater, it would be this one:
[rae is that too many commas? i like commas. it's like a nice dramatic pause.]

looking forward to watching this tomorrow at 8pm:

soaking up these days full of color.

.. fall fashion: at the show ..

i love when i am able to travel with j to shows. not only are the guys [and gal!] ridiculously talented, i love to spend a night with my favorite guy. he's an amazing guitar player and i'm so proud of him.

there's an unwritten law. if i'm in a wide open space, i must do cartwheels. i went for a walk with my favorite guy today. the sky was blue. there were sundogs. leaves were falling and everything was glowing. life is so amazing.

today was grey. and cold. and rainy. we see a lot of days like that this time of year. but i love where i live. i like that i can look out the window at work and see corn fields. i like that the air is brisk and fresh. i like the smell of freshly fallen leaves.

photos by: jalexander. i have a date with him tonight. woot woot!

today on the radio i heard this: the most important thing is not what you're doing for God, the most important thing is that God is the most important thing. i've been thinking about that a lot. sometimes i get so caught up in the 'doing' i forget about just 'being'. i don't want to live my life constantly trying to meet expectations i set for myself. i simply want to be the woman God created me to be.
happy weekend! don't just do... be.

.. fall fashion: rain + wind ..

today was a typical day in western ny. the day started out so lovely. i even let out a giddy squeal when i walked out the door because it was so nice & warm out. [mid 60's] ...by the time i was out of work it was a good 20 degrees cooler. and rainy. and windy. see:

.. fall fashion: boots! ..

vest: the north face
thermal: damsel
jeans: h+m
boots: thrifted [$1 at an estate sale! score.]

thank you all for the kind comments. you make me smile from the inside out. perhaps someone should throw in a criticism to be sure my head doesn't get big... but maybe not. this has been fun, fun, fun! [although today began a certain time of the month for me and as we walked outside to take pictures i may have said, i kinda just wanna get in bed.]
todays fall must haves: vest & boots. if you live somewhere where you use the heat more months than you do not use the heat, i believe you should own a down vest. they are totally fabulous. also you should own a pair [or 3] of warm boots.

cardigan: bdg, gift
tshirt: truly madly deeply, u.o.
jeans: h+m
sunnies: thrifted
sneaks: chucks, no idea where i got them - it was at least 10 years ago. shoot...does that make me sound old?
this is a typical work outfit for me [at the farm]. in western ny fall = layers. basically from october to april it's safe to say i'm wearing at least 3 layers. confession: if it wasn't frowned upon in our society to wear the same thing every day, i would possibly wear this grey cardigan every day.
a big hip hip hooray that it has been 1 week since my lasik! i had a checkup today. my right eye is 20/20 and my left eye is 20/25 with a possibility that it may improve even more. i can now let water run on my face and wear makeup! hip hip! also i no longer have to wear my goggles to bed...sorry babe, i know it was super romantic. hooray! perhaps i could make the goggles a part of the fall fashion...

.. fall fashion: the office ..

most days i'm a farmer. ok so maybe i just work in a farm office, but i'm a farmer at heart. i'm also a realtor. today i had to pull out the office attire. which brings me to a very important part of the fall wardrobe... the cardigan. summer tanks & cami's can live on under a cardigan. it was in the upper 50's today, which practically felt like summer after the cold we've been having.

.. a week of fall fashion ..

there's a blog i've been following for some time. emery is a lovely and inspiring gal. she has a great heart. she's an amazing writer. and she dresses rad to boot. if you don't read her blog, you should be. as a matter of fact go to her blog, scroll down and click on the love story. you'll be hooked. guaranteed. emery is doing a week of fall fashion & invited others to join in. so i'm joining... like emery said, it's fun to see how others dress for the new chill in the air. and we have a serious chill in the air. it snowed this past week. in octoberrr. j + i usually try to hold out til november to turn the heat on. i have to say, we caved with the snow. to jump start the week of fall fashion, here's what i wore to church today...

foodie friday!!!

the sweet hubs planned a lovely evening for our anniversary dinner. we tried a new restaurant downtown rochester near the little theater. we were not disappointed. it was a rather warm evening so we asked to sit outside. it threatened to rain a couple times but that just meant we had the entire patio to ourselves.
i had a special, a very yummy chickpea pasta with spinach & mushrooms:

j takes advantage of eating out to get some red meat:

the fresh cut frites with spiced tomato sauce were excellent. confession: i always eat off j's plate. especially if there are french fries involved.
my photographer is currently unavailable, but i promise to add more photos of the lovely evening. we had a good experience at 2 vine & i would recommend it, especially if you can eat outside.
