a perfectly chunky knit blanket.

i stumbled across these photos while surfing the net. [while i should have been cleaning the house during those few precious moments my baby was sleeping.]

look at these amazing cozy blankets!
my question is, can i get needles big enough to knit one of these beauties??

cause i'm pretty sure i need one.

also, i can only think about how i would bruise my thigh on this precariously placed elk head...
also, can someone please beg this guy to give me pics...i've only been trying to get some to post for like 5 days...

  1. I have seen ridiculously big needles at Michaels. Or, have J get you a fat dowel, cut it in half, and make some points? I'd love to knit one of those, too. How cozy.

  2. The question is, can either of you get needles big enough to knit one for me?! :) I would have to bake you some really big cupcakes to cover that blanket!!

I think my legs just bruised looking at that elk head, but it's super sweet. I need a sweet towel hook for my bathroom now that we're switching things up...

  3. love those! i knit a chunky one over the summer, but not THAT big! you'll totally be able to find huge-o needles online if you can't find them in town.

  4. You could probably cut down a couple small trees & sharpen the ends to make knitting needles.

  8. I just found this via pinterest, and I need to make it! Etsy.com has some size 50 circular needles. I'm just gonna have my husband make me some though. http://www.etsy.com/listing/76407084/super-stix-jumbo-knitting-set-us-size-35?ref=v1_other_2

  10. Oh gosh this made me laugh as I am doing EXACTLY the same thing!! The hours that bub is sleeping are so precious, its such a waste to use them doing mundane tasks. Inspiration hunting is much more fun! Anwyay, we are your newest followers (Holly and Lauren from lovethomas.blogspot.com) Love your blog, lots of inspiration here. Thank you for the lovely distraction!
